I am trying to increase my vocabulary,
they say the best way is to read the dictionary,
I tried to do this but only got as far as Aardvark,
I can tell you right now reading that book is no walk in the park.
I tried a new method, one involving opening to any page in the book,
but that was useless the words I saw were all Gobbledygook.
I was about to settle down for lunch,
When I came across Carte Blanche,
I word that I wished applied to me at work,
then I could run around and go berserk.
Increasing my vocabulary is pretty hard,
it is so much easier to act as a tard,
once more I opened to a new page,
the words became more complexed so I had to disengage.
I picked up my local paper to see what was showing,
a lesson in literature I felt was bestowing,
luck was not on my side, don’t worry about it, don’t shoot the messenger,
With so much personal work to achieve this goal, I feel the need to malinger.
I searched for more words to choose,
and here we are here are the words to use,
We have accolade and acrimony,
angst and anomaly,
don’t forget the antidote,
avant-garde and baroque,
I cannot guarantee these words are bonafide.
I can tell you this poem is a boondoggle,
and it isn’t written by a bourgois hide,
throughout all this bravado I will let you in,
we have a brogue, brusque and Byzantine.
While my stomach makes cacophony,
I wish that I could meet some of you, cause I really enjoy the camaraderie,
I may be a little capricious,
I promise I am not vicious.
Upon all this learning I didn’t think I’d get far,
it could be due to my elan and charisma,
I swear I could go on and on,
but so many words have come and gone.
For now, I must read some more,
Before the morning before I head out the door,
I must put down this metaphorical pen
and wish you all auf Wiedersehen
Till next time, Keep smiling
